Privacy Policy
Calenzy Pte. Ltd. ("Currenzy", "we", "us"), 160 Robinson Road, Singapore 068914, makes the Currenzy app for iPhone, iPad and Android and runs currenzy.calenzy.com. This page says what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain language because the product is simple and so is our position: Currenzy has no accounts, and we want as little of your data as possible.
1. What we collect
- An anonymous device identifier. There is no sign-up. The app creates an identifier for your device (on iOS the vendor identifier, on Android the Android ID) and uses it to remember your setup and your price alerts on our servers. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number, because we never ask for them.
- Your app setup. With that identifier the app sends its version, the platform and device type, the language you chose in the app, your device language and country, your appearance and theme choice, and the currencies you track, chart and show in widgets. We use this to run the app and to see which features are used.
- Price alerts. When you create an alert we store the currency pair, the target rate and the direction, together with a push token so we can notify you. Our servers check rates every 20 minutes and send a notification when a rate crosses your target. Delete an alert in the app and it is removed from our servers.
- Purchases. Currenzy+ is bought through the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to know whether your device has an active yearly or lifetime purchase so we can unlock it. We never see your card or your billing address.
- Advertising identifier. The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads. On iOS you may be asked whether to allow tracking; you can say no and keep using the app. Currenzy+ removes the ads.
- Crash reports and usage data. Through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, and through App Store Connect and Google Play Console. This is aggregate app version, device and crash information.
2. What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos or browsing history. We do not sell or rent any data.
3. Where the rates come from
Exchange rates are fetched from our own servers at api.calenzy.app. Those requests carry the app's key and the anonymous device identifier above, nothing more. Rates are kept on your device so the app keeps working when you are offline.
4. Who else sees data
Apple and Google, who run the stores and deliver push notifications. Google AdMob for ads in the free version. RevenueCat for purchase status. Firebase for crash reports and analytics. Our servers run on Amazon Web Services in Singapore. Each of these operates under its own privacy policy.
5. How long we keep it
Data on your device stays until you delete the app. On our servers, your device record and its alerts are kept while the app is in use. Alert data for a device we can no longer notify is removed after 30 days. Crash and usage data follows the retention of the services named above.
6. Your rights
Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your device. To have the device record and its alerts removed from our servers, write to us through Contact us in the app's Settings. We will ask for what we need to find the record and delete it within 30 days. Users in the EU, the UK and other places with comparable laws have the right to access, correct and request deletion of personal data we hold. Our representative in the EU is Marine Larmier, 11 avenue des Moulins, 06670 Saint-Martin-du-Var, France, marine@calenzy.com. Our data protection officer can be reached at dpo@calenzy.com.
7. Children
Currenzy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes
We will update this page if anything material changes and move the "last updated" date. For significant changes we will show a notice in the app the next time you open it.
